I agree totally. I got frustrated at times in the original Uncharted but this was better balanced between platforming and shooting. I rarely stealth in games but I did a lot of sneaking up to people in Uncharted 2 just to watch the different ways they'd get taken out, be it by ramming their heads into walls or pulling them off a ledge over the side of a cliff.
As you say the story and the character interactions throughout were brilliant and the only problem I had with it was that it was too short (10-12hours depending on skill which is still pretty good for most games outside of RPGs) but that said I'm on my second playthrough trying to pick up the artefacts and I often see little things that I missed the first time round as I was too busy fighting for my life and too short sounds harsh. I've even found myself going for a couple of the trophies just because they are fun. Everything about the game is well done and I've barely scratched the online which extends it quite drastically. On that point I haven't encountered any problems when playing online, even in the beta. It's always been lagless and great fun.
If they were to make Uncharted 2 a movie, they'd probably have to make it a fairly long film or cuts bits out. There's about an hours worth of video clips just in the game and those bits are worth the price of cinema admission
