KIA were doing some huge freighter ops with titans and managed to get one hotdropped by AAA.

QuoteOk, here we go.
Basically, yesterday I got intel that KIA were gonna make a massive freighter ops. Mass freighter spawn = titans on bridging. I msn'ed nync to find out how he/rol feel about making a trap for that, and he replied "we're in". During the day we were guessing KIA's jump route and best points for us to get in range, poking ppl with neutral alts and locator agents and our friends who could help. Also I called Andys on cell phone telling "man, I need you online tonight" and he replied positively as well.
Our fleet with approx 40 dreads, 5-7 hictors and some cynorecons was rdy 1 hour before KIA ops started. We did not have eyes/ears in KIA fleet, but our guys did awesome job with search agents and adress book permawatch Wink
I'm a bit dissapointed with the result (expected to kill ~10 freithers as well), but as soon as our cynohictor guy reported titan within 10km, the order was given to tackle. Better take less, but for sure.
Titan poped in like 10-15 seconds, I locked it on structure with my dread. As far as I got it, Mad decided to log off at once not even turning the hards on, but he did it within our hictor bubble range, so the titan was sentenced.
There were no problems with retreating with caps, as all KIA support (which was too low on numbers to try to fight us) got under sheild and both pos points incaped by dread fire.

QuoteAs already said it was a well planned and well executed trap by AAA, ROL.
As Zumzat indicated a large scale freighter op was planned to shift cargo to and from Period Basis. The plan being to use the titans to bridge a support fleet, and freighters currently in PB to empire, and then back.
Mid way through the chain the support fleet bridged onto a beacon in 1M4, and a little while after the Leviathan in question also jumped to the beacon, getting ready to jump the support fleet to the next destination.
There was one unknown neut in local.
As soon as the Titan jumped in a bubble went up. At this point I thought some genius alliance mate had bubbled the fleet accidentally. A few seconds later a neutral HIC appears on overview. Ok... A few seconds after that reds start flooding in, shiptype Dreadnought. Hmmm... A few seconds later all that's left is the wrecked husk of a Leviathan.
I'm not sure how many HICs were immediately at the scene, but the one I saw that tackled the Levi was dropped quickly by the KIA support fleet. Maybe he could've got out if he had not have logged, however these things are all a gamble, and the pilot, as stated, thought he was outside the bubble so made a split second decision. No way to second guess and few of us have probably been in such a situation.
Luckily we live in an age of deranged moon goo space billionaires so losing one isn’t as painful as it once was, and to be fair we were due this. We were just all surprised (and a bit dismayed) it wasn’t Eddz :p
Again gratz to AAA/ROL on a good trap.
